Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from that period of that year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
