I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
